Rhode Island , due to its large jewelry industry, and the creativity of several bankers at the former Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank, was and continues to be a leader in the precious metals industry. Edwards & Angell, due to its dominance in the Rhode Island legal market, maintained a practice in this industry. Justin began working in this practice area in 1994, and gradually grew the practice to become one of the leading lawyers in the metals industry. In 1999, he joined Gerald Metals in Stamford , Connecticut as General Counsel and merchant banker.

Justin left Gerald Metals at the end of September, 2001 to re-establish his commodities practice at Day, Berry & Howard in Hartford and Stamford , and to develop, with Jim and Mark, the concept that has become Auramet. Justin represented traders, merchants, banks, producers and consumers of both hard and soft commodities, in virtually all aspects of the business from production and trade finance to equity raising and asset recovery.
