Mark Edelstein (CFO)
Former head of Warrior (Metals & Mining corporate finance division
of Standard Bank), New York .
Mark has over 15 years experience in the finance arena of natural
resources. Mark started his work experience at Amerada Hess as a
credit analyst for the oil company's trading companies. Mark followed
this as credit and risk manager at Sumitomo Corporation in charge
of energy and metals.
Mark then became employed at Gerald Metals (major metals trading
company with over $1 billion in revenues) from 1992-1998. Mark started
as Head of Credit and was then promoted to Director of Structured
Finance. While Director of Structured Finance, Mark arranged in excess
of $500 million in structured transactions over a period of three
years (mainly in the precious metals sector).
Mark spent the past 5 years at Standard Bank's metals and mining
corporate finance division in New York , advising resource companies
on mergers and acquisitions, asset sales (mines and processing operations),
project finance and other strategic advisory work. When he left he
was head of the division in New York .
Mark officially left Standard Bank in late 2003 to start up Auramet.
